RAG: answering with company knowledge
A model’s general knowledge and your current company documents are different sources. Connect them deliberately.
Find relevant information first
RAG retrieves content relevant to a question and supplies it to the model as context. For a leave-policy question, this means using the relevant policy section rather than the whole document archive.
Uploading files is not enough
Sources need to be current, searchable and governed by user access. Retrieving the wrong or outdated document can lead to an incorrect answer, however fluent it sounds.
Try a small example
Select frequent questions and identify their expected sources and acceptable answers. The system should show the source behind the answer and acknowledge when sufficient information is unavailable.
